The Company of Lost Souls is a socially based guild. As a group, we encourage the exploration of the world of Norrath, and recently the Moon of Luclin. We are seekers of the unknown. Explorers of realms. There is great adventure in discovery.
As such, members are expected to value their time spent playing and their accomplishments, rather than loot and level. After all, anyone can camp a spawn. This guild is about character, and about honor.
The Company of Lost Souls accepts members of all races, classes and levels. We seek people who are tired of the constant raiding, camping and loot-mongering of other guilds. We seek those who are interested in interaction with other players, and with the world of Norrath as a whole. The world has many secrets, and so too, its people.
The Company is operated as an extended family unit, Brothers and Sisters looking out for each other. Sometimes we offer assistance, other times advice. What we do not do is ignore or forsake our fellow Company members. If a member is in need, it is the duty of every Brother and Sister to make sure that need is satisfied. That could involve corpse recovery, a rez, the taking down of a rare-pop critter, and many other strange circumstances. If a member cannot personally tend to the problem, there should be an attempt to find an alternative method of assistance. To say things like "I am in a good exp group" or "it will take me too long to get there" is not acceptable. When it comes right down to it, our fellow Company members are who we can rely on. This goes for our highest level members to our lowest.
Conversely, abuse of this policy merits immediate expulsion from the Company. Any person who demonstrates disregard for their fellow Company members, by action or inaction, will be dismissed. Anyone may ask for assistance, but you should weigh the severity of the situation before calling for help. For instance, dragging the 55th level Cleric out of the Akheva Ruins on Luclin to rez your 10th lvl character in WC, because you don't want to spend the fifteen minutes it will take to regain your lost exp, is not acceptable. Politeness, courtesy and appreciation for your fellow Company members above all else.
Again, members who are determined to be abusing the Company's assistance policy will be immediately dismissed. Alts will also be removed. There will be no appeal. There will be no re-application. Betrayal of a fellow Company member will not be tolerated. Begging for items and/or powerleveling will likewise not be tolerated.
Persons wishing to apply for membership with the Company must simply spend some time with a current member in order to be evaluated. If the Company's charter and code of conduct is agreeable with said person, and the applicant has been evaluated as a good addition to the Company, that person will be inducted into the Company by the first available officer. The officer will need to be informed of the applicant's merits by the evaluating member. Only one member needs to evaluate an applicant. If the new member chooses, his or her alts may also be inducted into the Company without review. All alts will be expected to abide by the Company Code. There is currently no limit to the number of alts a member may bring to the Company.
